Debabrata Basu was born in 1987 in Kolkata, West Bengal.
Basu, a self- taught contemporary artist is a semi - realist, which reflects
in his art. He brings to life, in a melange of vibrant colors, an imaginative
world! He has a knack of observation of small meaningful things and the
beauty of life.
Water colors fascinated him, and drove him to paint since the age of 13.
He took up various jobs alongside in order to pursue his artistic passion
and later metamorphosed into a much appreciated full time artist.
Over the last decade, Basu dived into painting on canvas with acrylic,
under the supervision of senior artist Shri Subrata Gangopadhaya.
He is constantly improvising on his work, whilst gaining knowledge,
through attending numerous art camps and workshops.
The artist has participated in over thirty group shows across Kolkata,
New Delhi, Mumbai and Bangalore. He is currently working towards his
first solo show.The artist resides in Kolkata.
