Mohammad Feroz Khan, born and raised in Delhi, is a self-taught artist with a rich and varied background in the arts. His early artistic education began under the guidance of his father, the late Mohd Ibrahim Khan, who was a banner painter. This foundational experience was further enriched by his long-term mentorship with the renowned artist, the late Manjit Bawa, whom he affectionately refers to as Guruji. Under Bawa’s tutelage for 14 years, Feroz Khan honed his skills in using brush and pastels across various subjects and developed a keen appreciation for the subtleties of texture.
Manjit Bawa played a pivotal role in shaping Feroz Khan’s artistic vision, encouraging him to draw inspiration from the vibrant and diverse life of Delhi. Feroz Khan’s work often captures the essence of ordinary, everyday scenes: a tailor working on a manual sewing machine, a street vendor selling cool drinks, rickshaw pullers, beggars, and other denizens of the city’s poorer quarters. These simple, yet profound moments are vividly brought to life on his canvas, reflecting his deep connection to the simplicity and beauty of daily life.
Feroz’s artistic journey includes notable projects in Washington DC, USA, and the Lotus Bazaar Forum in Barcelona, Spain. Through these experiences, Feroz Khan has established himself as a respected figure in the art world, known for his unique ability to portray the charm and intricacies of everyday life.
