Mumbai based artist Prashant Prabhu ( born 1972) has been practicing full time in watercolours for more than 2 decades. After dabbling in many media and genres, he has found his groove in watercolours as a medium of expression and landscapes, cityscapes as genres. In his own individual style which may be classified as minimalist realism, he has painted and exhibited series inspired by his many travels around India and countries like Burma, Bhutan, Russia and Japan.
Prashant Prabhu has shown solo in prestigious public galleries like Jehangir in Mumbai 5 times, and in Delhi at Lalit kala Akademi (2017) and Japan foundation (2025). Over 3 decades he has held more than 20 one man shows. Internationally, his works have been selected 3 times in Contemporary International exhibition of Royal Watercolour society, London, and was only Indian invitee at Taoyuan watercolour biennial of Taiwan govt, in 2022.
Prashant is also a recipient of Maharashtra State award 2003, and winner of top 10 position twice in Worldwide challenge of ‘International Artist’ magazine of Australia.
