Purvi Parmar

Purvi Parmar

A distinguished printmaker and painter, Purvi (b. 1988) holds a Diploma in Painting (2008) from Ahmedabad and a Post Diploma in Printmaking (2013) from the prestigious faculty in Baroda. Her technical foundation in both disciplines allows for a unique spatial play between traditional mark-making and contemporary composition.

Purvi’s commitment to the medium of printmaking has earned her significant institutional recognition. She is a two-time recipient of the State Lalit Kala Akademi Award for Printmaking in Ahmedabad, a testament to her mastery of the craft. Her potential was further recognized by the Ministry of Culture, which awarded her the Junior Artist Scholarship, marking her as a definitive voice in the contemporary Indian art landscape.

With a career spanning over a decade of solo and group exhibitions across India, Purvi has established a reputation for meticulous layering and rhythmic detail. Currently based in Ahmedabad, she continues to push the boundaries of printmaking, creating works that bridge academic precision with a modern, minimalist aesthetic.
