Rooted in the vivid cultural heritage of Madhubani, Bihar, Sachindra Nath Jha (b. 1975), is a Contemporary Fine Artist & Sculptor who creates striking, spirit-nourishing fine art that bridges traditional Indian folk aesthetics with contemporary three-dimensional form. Trained at the College of Arts in Patna and currently working out of Gurugram, Jha’s lifelong artistic journey was sparked by the intricate rangoli patterns of his childhood—a foundation that infuses his oeuvre with an undeniable passion for vibrant color and rhythmic geometry.
While Jha spent years mastering canvas paintings centered on the spiritual life, ritualistic ceremonies, and sacred energy surrounding the river Ganga, his practice expanded dramatically into modern sculpture in 2005. Today, his signature fiberglass sculptures feature iconic animal forms—including Nandi, regal elephants, and majestic peacocks—adorned with delicate, colorful floral patterns and lush foliage motifs. By weaving intricate flora directly onto sacred and wild fauna, Jha’s work celebrates the harmonious interdependence between nature, divinity, and wildlife.
A recipient of the prestigious Kala Samman State Award (2014) and the Lalit Kala Akademi National Research Grant Scholarship (2002), Jha has presented over 10 solo exhibitions at premier institutions, including the Visual Art Gallery in New Delhi and Museum Gallery in Mumbai. His work has also been showcased in over 50 international group shows across London, Switzerland, and Kuala Lumpur, as well as the Bodhgaya Biennale. Today, his distinct paintings and decorated sculptures remain highly coveted by fine art collectors seeking soulful, chromatic elegance.
